Picked up three NOS during the great month of May... Brown, then Speckled followed by Red

Yes, the speckled came in a box marked SJ-200 which is the model # for an Avocado Smokey Joe.  The box also has "Smokey Joe Avocado" written on it.  Don't know what the "MT" means.  I did know it was speckled before I bought it.

I really like that speckled. It reminds me of camping cookware.

What era were they making these with that style of handle, and when was it changed to the current style?

1960's thru early 1970's.  The handle changed from offset around 1974.

Oh you didn't know.  @harris92 is actually from 2092.  He's a time traveler who goes back to the 60's, buys these beauties off the shelf, then comes to 2016 to taunt the ever living crap out of the rest of us.

The thought that Harris was a time traveler did occur to me till I found out that he is fact part of "The Family". Seems he has been designated as the Keeper Of The Flames or some such thing. Whenever highly collectible Kettles are found the folks just know that it is best to send them to him for safekeeping and posterity.

I like the world with that amazing collection down in Georgia.
