I've had the extra bowl and lid for a few years and the performer charcoal came up NIB on CL last week for a good price. I spent $30+ for the burner and regulator assembly(parts 88102,10469,890415,7437). I drilled a single hole for the igniter. The propane cylinder and regulator bracket was one I got from Home Depot(HS24 Hurricane Tie) for $2 and modified it. It needs more work to make it look a little more professional but now that I have a template with measurements, it should be easy to duplicate. With the grill assembled, the project can be done in a couple of hours.

I have a performer silver with a dark green performer bowl and lid on it. I can't believe I never thought to do this. Really cool, great job.   @PistolsFiring

Thanks. It can be surprising how little it costs to add a gas igniter system. Seems the trickiest part is locating and drilling the oval hole so that it doesn't interfere with the charcoal grate. Any tips for that? I don't know that I could Dremel my way to an oval hole.

The bowl was a gas assist performer bowl so I didn't have to drill a hole for the burner tube. But Lawrence has done it .......http://weberkettleclub.com/blog/2014/04/25/weber-grill-mod-adding-gas-assist/

Oh, gotcha. I realize now it's another Grass Green C&B Performer bowl.
