Vintage Weber Charcoal Caddy - Mint Condition
« on: February 16, 2016, 11:44:51 AM »
Thank you to the grill fella with the "eagle eye" who spotted this and tipped me off.  This vintage Weber charcoal caddy was kept in doors since purchase.  It was picked up at an estate sale and then advertised for sale as a "fireplace accessory" (no mention of Weber).  I have seen two or three of these. @Jeff @reillyranch   This one is in mint condition.

Good to see you snag that Stephen. One of these days you gotta get a total group picture.......all your Kettles plus all your accessories.......everything that says Weber on it. Maybe stand back and use a wide angle lens. As the kids say it would be "epic".
"Why do you have so many bbq's?"....."I just like lookin' at em' sometimes....and I have enough purses and shoes"

Wow, that thing is really cool!
I wonder how the lid/scoop measures up to a full chimney?

@WNC  The caddy holds ~20 lbs of charcoal.  Its about 24" tall and 10" diameter.  I believe it was advertised in the catalog from 1963 thru 1972.

That looks awesome. I was hoping to see a photo of it next to a Wood Dale. Is there any way to tell when it was made?  Do we know if they stayed the same for the 9 years that they were made?

Next we need to see it all set up with a kettle and a side table, just like the old brochure.

Congrats on a great score. I'm really glad it worked out.

@Dan NY

No, I couldn't get an exact date on when it was originally purchased.  I did confirm it was always kept indoors next to a fireplace.  Yes, the design stayed the same for the life of the product.
