Weber "Tall Boy" Conversion - Done!
« on: July 28, 2015, 04:13:15 PM »
Been wanting a Weber kettle for a while.  Needed to add one to my cookin arsenal.

Since I'm a bigger boy, the low height of the standard kettle had to be modified.  While I was at it, I added a few other items I thought I'd need while cooking on my new kettle.

Time to get it dirty!

Seymour - Nice job!  Way to make it uniquely yours.

Lots of mods going on there - that triangle / wheel assembly looks pretty involved and must have taken some serious planning.  The shelves are way cool as well.

The cupholder should be mandatory....

Thanks, I used 1" tubing for the legs and raised the overall height about 9".  I have a bad back and that leaning over was not going to work.  The bar buoys will be handy for the back pain, lolol.

The added weight of the legs and wheels make it pretty stable for anything I want to put on the shelves.

There are some really cool mods on that grill.  It has a really clean look to it.  I have to ask, I didn't see a locking mechanism on the front caster.  Is there one, and if not...does this grill want to roll around a lot?  I like the tables a lot.

The cast iron grate is made by Craycort.

Yes, all the wheels are Harbor Freight. The front wheel does have a locking latch.  It does roll easy!
