Soooo...

I'm surfing my favorite forum, and I get a PM that there is a yellow kettle on CL in my vicinity...

Huh ?... How'd I miss that ?

It's listed under "Kettle style bbq".

Anyways... a few emails... yadda yadda... 20 minute drive...

And this is what I got for $35.





The lid is in great condition for its age, and the bowl is pretty good despite some scratches in the finish.

So Thanks Idahawk, as they say in Boston, I owe you a bee-yah.

Nice clean sweet spot on that lid. Very nice of Idahawk to tip you off.

35 smakers for what some people at one point thought there were all that was left accounted for ...........nice pickup !!!!

there continues to be nice old kettles surfacing....the truth is out there ............ 8)

$35 ?!? You essentially bought a reasonably priced twist on ash pan and got a YELLOW 22 for FREE!  :o :o ;D 8) Fantastic score!

Very cool of you @Idahawk - lets hope lady karma takes this into consideration on the next kettle adventure ;)

Thanks for all the replies.

The guy I bought it from told me it had been in the family since new and had belonged to his late Father.

It was his Dad's pride and joy.

I told him I would get it cleaned up and restored and fire up a rib-eye in memory of his Dad.

He did'nt even know it was a Weber.

So, I guess it's good that I did'nt wear my yellow WKC t-shirt.
