Kettle restore...odd leg
« on: June 28, 2015, 07:10:51 PM »
Found this leg on an old kettle I plan on restoring. Anyone see a leg like this?  I don't think it is a weber leg but could be wrong.

That looks like a broken off leg socket being used as a little foot cap 8)

Or when it broke off they just spun it around and used it as the front leg!

Can you take a picture of the other end?  It's definitely a socket from a kettle but without seeing the other end, impossible to tell if the leg is weber or not.

Thanks

I'll get some more pictures when I get home tonight.  It is a Weber that my dad bought new but it has been sitting out exposed to the elements and not being cleaned so it is in pretty rough condition.  There is even the chance that he cobbled together parts from other Webers as well.  I will probably be asking for some help on how to restore it later.

Few more pics of the leg. Really can't figure out how that leg came to be.

Yep, looks like they just snapped it off another Kettle & said " Bob's yer Uncle!!!"

People use the darnedest things for Kettle legs, I tell ya.....

"If you want it fancy there is BBQ spray paint at home depot for that. "
    Covered, damper-controlled cooking.....IF YOU PLEASE !!!
