Ever noticed how the "RED" enamel on this era kettle really "pops".  It's almost like Candy Apple Red  ...          SJ

Yeah..the enamel is a much much thicker and deeper color

I think the gauge steel is also thicker than todays kettles

I agree. I just picket up one of these grills. B series.  I did a side by side comparison with a one with the wood side handles and the color is much deeper. It almost has a hammered look. Also the grill seems much heavier.

@mcmann yes..grill is much heavier and agreed on the enamel texture...like an eggshell/hammered texture to the enamel
