Ace Hardware Finds
« on: May 28, 2015, 06:05:58 PM »
Work took me a long way away today. On my way home I went past an Ace Hardware that just seemed to call me. I swing in and made my way to the huge Weber section. Mixed in amongst the new kettles and gassers were a few gems. There were two One Touch Platinums (twin side table) for $199, a 2009 WSM 22.5, and a 2009 black Gen. 2 Performer with gas assist for $299. Unfortunately these were all more than I could spend at this time. There was also two SS Woks, I did have to buy one of those.

I then went through all of the accessories to see if there was anything there. Just as I was about to go pay for the Wok, I spied a 7409 ash sweep. I grabbed it in disbelief and to my surprise there were two more behind it.  Needless to say all three of them came home with me.

The one other cool thing they had was a silver colored Weber Chill. It was missing the side tables and the price said $350 as is. Way to expensive in my opinion, but still pretty cool to see.

Here is the Wok in action tonight.

Yeah older performers and older Master Touch. Any grill with the ash bucket held in with a cross bar.

@Dan- Thanks for sharing that treasure hunt. It's a reminder to do recons at Aces and True Values, etc, just to see what's on the shelves.

Nice! And lucky ... the two Ace Hardware stores near me specialize in BGE or Bayou Classic type of miscellany, with a smattering of Weber.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch
