Was shopping in wally world and was in the outdoor section and came across a Jumbo Joe.  When i got it home i put it together, the handle came separate from the lid ??? so bolted it on, put the legs on, the bail and the grates.  I like this grill!

The funny thing is the Wife says oh we don't have that one yet 8)

I haven't been a big supporter of it, but I did see one in the hardware store a while back and it seemed alright. I like the new bottom ash system better than the sweepers. I should I invented it.

Nice pick-up.  I havent had the opportunity to see on in person.  Isnt the bottom just an regular damper?

I'm curious about the dampeners being on the bottom. Why didn't Weber do to this what they did to the SJG, use side vents?

Thing I was wondering about on these, if it says  18", are the parts (grates) interchangeable wth an 18-1/2" kettle ?
Is there a little extra play in the size?

What is the new bottom ash sweeper on this all about? I haven't heard of this yet. I assumed it was a standard vent damper similiar to the SJS? Fill me in...
This is the original Weber kettle. The most powerful bbq grill in the world and can blow your taste-buds clean off! So, you have to ask yourself one question: "Do you feel hungry? Well, do you punk?"

The bottom holes are more oval giving it better airflow than the sjp had. It's just a lot more shallow, but I am quite sure the top grate is that of a regular 18.5 because they used the same design as the bowl from the compact kettle.

I had one of the older models. It got many workouts at our tailgates.

What's the difference between the old JJ's and the outrider??
I'm only 2 or 3 kettles away from being that creepy guy down the street with all the Webers

I was wondering if the grates interchanged or not, have not had a chance to check.

I don't think the Jumbo Joe came with the lid lock like the Platinum and Outrider did.

Craig

Ok I'm having a brain fart here, what is the Outrider?  ??? Pics?
