Last Christmas my wife gave me a rotisserie ring. It has been a pretty big hit as roti chicken is her favorite. I discovered right away that I wasn't thrilled about using it on a typical tripod kettle. If the kettle legs had any wobble at all it was amplified by the increased weight and higher center of gravity. I really liked using the rotisserie on my SS Performer, but the ring needed to sit with the spit hanging over the table, and I like to use the performer for lighting chimneys for other grills.
As usual, I solved my problem by getting an additional kettle.  ::) I missed a CL deal on an OTP near me, and to console myself I had @Dale Benson agent this old thing from Tucson. No ash ring or pan and the cooking grate was pretty rusty. The lid had a couple good dings in it, but the bowl, cart and table were perfect. I had purchased a cheap, old OTG to use for parts, so I was covered.

I have used it a half dozen times now with the rotisserie and I really like it. For some reason, the ring sits just fine with the spit perpendicular to the cart.  The cart keeps everything rock steady and the lid still fits into the bail.

I like to be able to grill some sausages or veggies while the roti is running, so I built a set of "custom" grates from a standard 22.5 cooking grate, a piece of an old Smokey Joe cooking grate, and a 22.5 charcoal grate to work with the rotisserie. THis grate mod will also work as a charcoal rail.

Cut out a section with bolt cutters:

The waste piece,  the SJ grill section, a coal grate, and some bailing wire:

Hey, this might work! :

The SJ grate piece is to help keep the lump charcoal from falling through:

It does work!!

This beast looks pretty good too! I had to paint the ash ring and pan.  ;)

Thanks for looking!

Most excellent idea @jcnaz !!!

Of all the accessories I see you guys using, the rotisserie ring is what I keep drooling over.

Well, mostly anyways... :o

Oh, I almost forgot. This also solves the problem of finding a place to store the Rotisserie ring.

Looks great.  Its great being able to have a dedicated cooker for things like that.  It certainly beats setting something like that up and tearing it down every time you want to cook something with the roti.
