I recently learned that you could tenderize a steak with Baking Soda! I decided to try it on a Chuck Eye purchased a few weeks ago.

I wet aged it in my fridge for approx 2 weeks. I washed it off thoroughly. The steak started separating in two places! Smh!

Undeterred,  I covered it completely in baking soda!

I let it sit for several hours. This is what it looked like after I rinsed it off.

I melted some Butter and brushed it on both sides before applying the rub. I rested it on a roasting rack so that the rub wouldn't come off.

Here is the steak rubbed up!

I used 3/4 of a Weber Chimney waited until the coals were white hot, and put it on!

I cooked it directly for 2.5 mins Max on each side. I moved it indirect for about a minute while I grabbed a plate. I tented the steak with foil while I finished the potato in the microwave! That was one of the best steaks I've ever cooked! It was very tender & juicy!

Here is the "plated" pic! ;)

This is gonna sound crazy,  but I also cooked smoked wings and Bone-in Country Ribs! Here's a few pics!

well, if you're me, you use em to fire a piece of cast iron cookware that needs a reseason.
