The oldest chestnut you will see...The 1956 Weber Bros....

"Meat Ninja" and you old timers will remember this grill.

http://weberkettleclub.com/forums/weber-kettles-accessories/super-awesome-vintage-weber-kettle/msg2557/#msg2557

The owner and I have been talking off and on over the past 1 1/2 months about this grill.   Ron  owned this grill since the early 1980's.  He picked it up at a yard sale.  So, we casually talked over a 7 week period or so and discussed the features of the grill and how unique it is.  However, he wanted me to see the grill before a purchase was finalized. So, he boxed up the grill (fantastic job) and sent it to me with the agreement that if I liked the grill I would buy.  As soon as opened the  box the deal was done.

All the parts are original except for the lower front leg.  He did a repair job many years ago.  I removed some of the rust on the legs and wheels using electrolysis. The wheels are white underneath all that rust.  I lightly cleaned the utility pan.  I'm not going to clean it anymore.  I want to leave it as vintage as possible.

Now, I have three chestnuts.  One of the others will be put up for sale.... :)

Thanks for sharing the back story
I'd love a kettle that colour just so I could say I have a boobie pink kettle😀
I'm only 2 or 3 kettles away from being that creepy guy down the street with all the Webers

You have some of the finest looking kettles going Harris....you take some pretty good photos as well.  I saved the first one straight off.

That's kind of what happened with me too for this color. The other one being Lime Green. It finally has grown on me. I love the varying degrees of misting on the Chestnut kettles. Some are more "coppertone" some are more "boobie pink"..  :D

do you have any pics where you didn't adjust the contrast and saturation?  i know people like to do that to make them look more vintage but i'm wondering what the kettle looks like in person.

congrats on a vintage score!
I only use kettles with lid bales.
