The Wood Dale Statesman..........
« on: October 02, 2014, 03:29:56 PM »
Picked up this Wood Dale Statesman.  This is an oldie.  Handle parallel to the vent and square brackets.  It is a bright fire engine red.  The reds of the 50's and 60's were this bright.  Sweet grill.  Ash pan is not original though.....

Wow. Man that certainly is a beautiful kettle Harris.  The red is brilliant and the condition is great.

 Excellent !!!!

The other thing I notice besides the "SCORCHING BRITE" color on the very old, is the vents & handles are offset by a bit......free-form hand assembly & production back in the day?

Great pickup @harris92  ! I'll bet it looks more "orange-red" next to even the later 60s reds...

Yes, I will cook on it.  It was used a lot.  There are some chips here and there but overall it looks really nice.  No, this was not from Rockford, IL.  I remember that grill.
