 His name is " Uncle Johnny Coons " he hosted a number of kids shows in the 50s and early 60s in Chicago. In his time he was a celebrity in the Chicago area and I'm sure the picture is from the show based on his choice of aprons . " Noontime comedy" as it was called did skits and  offered advice about healthy eating for kids , he did grocery store grand openings and I'm sure Weber saw an opportunity to get involved with him and his show and so we got the famous grill shot. :)

My wife just turned me on to that show! I just watched the "First Ladies" and "Sports Heroes" episodes! Freakin hilarious!

My mother in law knew exactly who he was.  She grew up here and she watched the show when she was a kid.  I'm not sure it was a kids nutrition show it sounded more like a kids nonsense show.....but interesting.  I was a history major in college for a while...I gave it up.
