As always, I checked CL before hitting the vacation highway...Found this little-used little guy over the holiday weekend. Procurement added 2 hours to the 6-hr. drive.  8)

1981 stamp. The box is in nice shape and has a 7/6/82 postage date.

Other than the washers and wingnuts, this is how I found it- just a bit dusty w/ minor rust on the coal grate.

Bought it from a friendly retired couple who live in FL but vacation each year in VT, where they bought it from the original owner. The delivery address on the box is in Exeter, NH. Not sure if that was to a store or individual.

He said he has the recipe book/manual in FL and will mail it to me.

I paid the asking price of $16....."I looked up what they're going for these days and figured half of that was good."

Great score!! And at $16 that's a bargain!!
I'm about to clean up a B code SJ and the legs are a bit rusty , I'm just wondering what colour to paint the legs, I was thinking gun metal grey or charcoal grey. What do you think would be the closest match to the original ?
I'm only 2 or 3 kettles away from being that creepy guy down the street with all the Webers
