OK I really don't know what to say anymore... this is getting a little ridiculous! Not two days after finding the chief I found the matching 22! Albeit a little newer. This was my very first Estate sale find...

Needless to say this one is going to need some work but hopefully it will clean up nice! Love the twist pan/clips combo  ;)

My wife set this up didn't she?.... Shit, I should have seen it coming... never should have asked if she was cool with me sleeping in the garage next to the kettles  ;D

lol sad but true  ;)

It was actually really weird - not a fan if they are all like that. Is it normal that everyone just walks all over the house looking for stuff... there were people buying food out of the cupboards!

You're killing me, dude!  Nice find.  :D

A two-tone brownie OT is on my wishlist.  I doubt I will ever find one.  However, I do keep a lookout.  ;) ;)

Unbelievable! Keep riding that hot streak!!

That's awesome! How do you all find these brownies?

Wow, what a streak!  Soon there won't even be room for you to *sleep* in the garage!

I found a black kettle of the same vintage, I think it was a freebie 'F' or 'G', that had the same combination of twist ash and clips.  I thought it was obviously frankensteined, but the experts around the WKC set me straight:  apparently there were a few years where the kettles had both belts and suspenders.

Very interesting - I suppose I won't be take them off then! Thanks Mike.

This 22 has definitely seen a bit of abuse... the bowl section incl handle/leg welds are real good shape other than one golf ball sized ding - the lid however has some pretty nasty damage around the lip. Strangely the finish is it wonderful shape and has a nice rich shine to it. You can even still faintly make out the "Weber" on all three wood handles.

Anyone have tips on cleaning up the existing wood handles until I can replace, but without sanding off the Weber logo? A light brushing with steel wool seems to have worked a bit but I don't want to go after it to aggressively.

ON fire....and so it begins....you have to move half your garage full of Webers just to get something off the back wall.

604-give that wood a scrub with fine steel wool and really soapy water.

Jeff

unbelievable.
Have you bought a lottery ticket yet?

I can't believe you just didn't dust that grill off already, or take a hose to it!  It looks like it will clean up REALLY nice.  Its gonna look sharp next to the 26 when its all cleaned up.
Kettle collector AND cooker!
