Cooking grate for '68-'70 26.75 kettle
« on: June 29, 2014, 11:42:52 PM »
Dose anyone know if the " Grillmark Chrome Cooking Grid" sold by ace Hardware fits the older 26.75 kettles? I thought I saw a topic thread discussing the grill grates but I can't find it.
Update: Found the thread from earlier today, my question was answered.

Yes it does, and it is actually a pretty damn nice grate.  Considering the price, they are much beefier than I imagined they would be.  I bought 3 of them last year because they were so cheap.  I saved one (for the old 26er I might have some day  ;D).  One went to a friend who has an old 26er.  The third got donated to my buddies hunting camp for cooking over the fire pit in the back yard.

I posted on the other thread.  The Grillmark 25 inch grate, sometimes advertised as a 26 inch grate, measures 24 3/4 inch.  I got this from ACE at $3.75, you can get free shipping to ACE.  I have this for my non Weber 26 inch kettle, but if I ever find an old Weber 26 inch I believe it will fit.  The newer Weber 26 3/4 has larger and much more expensive grate. At $3.75 this 24 3/4 inch from Ace is a steal, it just does not have the two hinges.
