Pic request: Dial thermometer on grate
« on: April 20, 2014, 11:05:06 AM »
Hi, I'm in need of a picture of a grate dial thermometer for a thermometer article I'm working on. A clean-ish one if possible. Thanks!

This one lays flat on the grate.
I like it ... I place it under the lid vent, therefore I can check it by peeking with a flashlight. No need to lift the lid.

Using the snake method.

 Gunked Up?

Whadda Ya mean....gunked up?

 Here's how I clean 'em.......

Works Grate .....

OK.....here ya go......

Most generally accurate thing I'ver found to do is have it on the other side of whatever's cooking from the burn....

To keep them much easier to clean, lightly oil the glass face BEFORE beginning to cook............ ;D

    Covered, damper-controlled cooking.....IF YOU PLEASE !!!

The gunk is contagious! First it gets on the grate, then the kettle, then the thermometer, then the meat. Save the meat!  ;D
