Matt does it look more "orangeish" compared to the later 60s-early 70s reds? My 22 woodie is brighter than my later 60s 18 and 22

Perhaps a touch more orange and not quite as dark of a shade of red as the later MBH's. Less cherry, more strawberry :)

@Craig and @SixZeroFour

I went searching the forum today to look for an answer or opinion to this very question and re-found this recent thread.

My 18.5 red Wood Dale is certainly a more orange hue than my Arlington Heights thumb screw red 18.5 made just a couple years later.  SexZeroFour nailed the description in my opinion.  The Wood Dale is more orange and not as dark.  I would also say it is a bit more matte, but that could be method of storage for the last 45 years too.  I prefer the red of Arlington Heights over the Wood Dale red.  In the shade the difference is hard to see.  In the sun it is obvious.

@jcnaz :
The discovery above means my plan to swap out the bottom on the wood dale will not work.  Too bad because the lid is in good shape.   :'(

Yep, it'll be fired up at some point 8) Maybe that's what I'll use when I get the chance to make some Mac N Cheese.
