My wife has a friend who lives in Palmdale (just outside the Mojave Desert).  She was at a yard sale a couple weeks ago and she called my wife about a "cute little BBQ" that was $20.00.  My wife told her to get it and send me a pic.  I was thinking it was some POS water smoker.  Well it wasn't.  14" WSM E code just missing the food grate.  I think this will clean up nice.

Here it is.

Taking a bath.

More pics as the clean up progress's.  Thanks for looking.

Lite sand and clear coat on the handle

The smaller grate that sits on the water bowl cleaned up nice using a drill and wire wheel.  Bought a Smokey Joe Food grate that barely didn't fit.  Used a grinding wheel and took off about 64th around the OD off the grate.  Fits perfect.

So what's going to be cooked up for the new best friend ever?  ;D
This is a fairly cheap hobby when you consider the time  with family and friends and how many meals are created.

That is killer!

Let me know if you're interested in moving that one!

Wow, I would love one of those old little WSMs!  So sweet.  Congrats on that find, and on having a Weber Army that does your bidding all across the fruited plain.  ;-)

Wow, very cool! Welcome to the 1880 club. Yours is probably the 12th or so I've heard of. You are also super lucky to get the lower water pan. Most of them are missing. I believe the inner grate for that is a SJ charcoal grate. It sits INSIDE the recess.
"Have you hugged your Weber today?"
