When did legs become aluminum?

Do we have an idea of when standard tube kettle legs changed from steel to aluminum?  Was it pre WoodDale or do some Wood Dales have steel legs?

Pre-Wood Dale were steel. The only Wood Dale I have seen with steel legs was the Custom Bar-B-Que kettle.  The rest were aluminum. The below is a Wood Dale I traded.  It has steel legs.

Good info.  Does "Steel Legs" also infer "thin wheels" came with it?
eg, that custom has those "thin wheels" usually found on the pre wood dales

I've seen 6 "steel leg" grills in person.  All of them had thin wheels. Here is another grill from the Wood Dale era.  It was in an early 1960's Weber Catalog.  I am not sure if the legs are aluminum or steel.  Greg has seen a "live example" of the grill.  Perhaps he can chime in regarding the legs.  @glrasmussen

The thin wheels were previously thought to have been gone by 1959 however kettle photo from a 1961 catalog shows an ash pan (Wood Dale clipped) with thin white wheels. As for steel to aluminum legs it was early on in the Wood Dale era the switch was made.

And if this photo is from 1961 that narrows down the infamous black steel whitewalls from 1962-1970. The ARE shown in the 62 catalog for sure. (The black wheels)
