To check the leg socket placement start with a constant such as "top lip of bowl" and then down to base of leg socket.
A cloth tape measure would be the best to measure over the bowl.

I've never had to measure this, but one would think that the sockets are in a uniform array.

A quick measurement from bowl to socket shows that the front socket is roughly 3/4" farther from the bowl. I find it curious too that the back legs are stamped with the numeral 6. Could this mean they are for a 6" wheel?

Hmmm....whomever set up the leg socket spot weld station must has messed up.
Wonder how many units made it into the wild with the mistake ?
As stated, shortening the front leg to match the rear would be the fix.

The "6" must be a manufacturing mark.
Although if a 26er uses larger than 1" O.D. legs, it might designate "26" so the sockets don't get mixed up with standard sockets.
Would not affect wheel size.

Edit:
Ah, I see that is the bottom of a rear leg.
Would have to designate that ("this leg is for a 26")....not wheel size.

Shane - this pic is friggin' awesome!  lol  Absolutely one that should re-appear on the little guy's wedding night.  :D
I've always had gas...  And now a bunch of kettles because of this place.  Thanks!

Half-grilled, it sounds like a manufacturing defect.  If it is less than 10 years old, I'd call Weber and try to get a new bowl.

. The award for best advice in this thread goes to OGlenn. On my porch today, a replacement bowl! Called Weber and sent pics on Monday. That was fast! Weber rocks!

Weber CS rocks !

HalfGrilled:   Did you ever determine what the correct leg lengths should be.  Mine is also not level.  Bought in early May.   front leg is 22, two backs legs are 17.5 to the triangle.  wheels are 8".

rzimmer11

Exactly what pictures did you send to weber to get this corrected?   I assume the new bowl fixed the issue, right?

LOL. I didn't realize this thread was several months old...after reading a few posts, I was going to make the "call CS for a new bowl" suggestion.

Over the years I've been sent a couple of bowls and a lid. Weber CS does indeed rock.  :)
