Welcome to the 2020 WKC Secret Santa - a fun way to to get to know more members and end the year with some holiday cheer. Secret Santa is pretty simple, we'll blindly exchange names/addresses and do a little gift swap by mail. It's fun to get a grill-related gift and even more fun to give something nice to your fellow WKCers. 

General Rules:

- $20 minimum suggested value. No maximum limit. Give from the heart, but don't tap your retirement fund. Make it personal. Keep it simple.
- Sign up deadline: Black Friday, November 27th. 8pm EST.
- Ship via trackable shipping method in time to arrive before the end of the year. Shop early. Ship Early.
- Due to complications with shipping/customs/logistics internationally, this will be a US/Canada event only again this year.
- WKC is not responsible for lost or damaged packages.
- Don't ship anything illegal, regardless what your member match is begging for.
- Once you sign up and complete the survey, you're in. No backing out at the last minute. Non-shipment and non-communication will be a banable offense.

Wow, those came quick.  It's a bit of a challenge to find sauces and rubs from Iowa this year.  Not sure if it's Covid, or just that Iowa just doesn't have a lot of producers.  Iowa's got some really good BBQ, so you would think we'd have more.  That being said, I've heard Smokey D's is some pretty good BBQ, and I'm looking forward to eating there sometime soon when I visit my daughter in Des Moines.  Anyway, hope everything is tasty (except the koozies of course).  Merry Xmas / Happy Holidays!

Wow my SS sent me a 26" roached bowl, just what I needed to fabricate char baskets for my Ranch. Sweet !

It would have arrived yesterday, but was delivered to the wrong address.


I have a good idea who my SS is. So next WKC meet up, I'll make the five hour drive to ATL and thank you in person!!

Benefits or drawbacks of having a three and a half year old. You get up at 5:30 to open gifts and see what Santa brought. Made him stay in his room till 6 but I was just as excited as he was.

Thanks Santa. This was a great way to end a bad week. Love the glasses, and the hat, they have been used by us already The book I thought I had is one I didn't have so that's perfect. I haven't used that rub before but when I opened the bubble wrap I could smell the butter. As for the apron I'm putting that in my bbq Togo kit.

I'm glad everything arrived in one piece (I was a bit worried about the glasses (local to Elk Grove and Sacramento CA)  The rub is as local and pretty darn good (IMHO)

Mesquite smoked, reverse seared Prime New York using my new SNS 18" charcoal basket.  Thanks @jamesnomore

Pulled off and rested for 10 minutes after reaching 112 degrees internal. Then seared for 2 minutes each side.

Another great little accessory in my arsenal.

Took a little bit of time to get here, but well worth the wait. I just received a very nice carbon steel knife and a ceramic sharpener (first pic). I'm a knife guy, with quite a collection of Wusthof stainless steel knives. But I do love the character and edge that only carbon steel has. Pictured with my new knife, is my limited edition carbon steel Wusthof chef's knife (pic 2). I think they make a great pair. Thank you for the wonderful gifts Secret Santa!

I'm glad you like them! I stalked your wkc posts and figured you were a knife enthusiast. The Japanese style blade on western handles are my favorite kind of knife and I wanted to share that with you. That Masakane is NOS from the 90's and harkens back to when Gyuto's and other Japanese Western style knives still weren't yet trendy. Kudos to my SS for doing some recon and hooking it up with a bunch of goodies from IL! The mean mug is a hoot and the books will inspire me to make new pizzas. My second kid was born a few weeks ago and we let the sourdough starter die off (oops) and we've been meaning to revive that too. There's also some Rumchata pods, a coffee dice game, and some bbq sauce from their local joint. Thanks again SS, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year!
