Title: Half in the bag.....estate sale find
Post by: Scott Zee on December 09, 2016, 11:45:04 AM
Went out this morning to a couple local sales looking for nothing in particular and found this hanging in a garage buried behind a couple other things. Only about a third of it was visible and I just about $hit when I uncovered it.....Elevated Half Grill....didn't have a price marked on it and I asked the guy in the garage how much??? $2.00. I couldn't hand him the $$ fast enough...SCORED an early Christmas present......... :o

@Scott Zee - Great eye and score.  Your subject title threw me.  I was expecting a stumbling, drunken estate shopping story (lol).

They def don't make them like they used to.  8) How did you clean it?

I'm guessing ... Water and a sponge.  ;) ;)  It appears as if it was never used.

I like the simplicity of the "legs".  Great find, Scott!

@pbe gummi bear    I used these SS scrubbies I found at Sams Club. The one on the left is fresh out of the package. Just some elbow grease and a little dish soap did the trick. They're great for removing surface rust and I also use them to get the crusties off my cast iron before a fresh wipe of oil.

Those look vaguely familiar, @Scott Zee ... they aren't the infamous, $85 1973 Weber Stainless Sponges, are they?  :o

@Bob BQ   they look similar but I found these at Sams Club, they came in a 12pk. I don't remember how much I paid but I assure you it wasn't more than $20.
