It was pretty fun, but I wouldn't recommend it to someone who isn't handy. Writeup to follow!

OK, but one has to ask why?  Did you say "Handy" or "Handsy"?  I want to be clear on that one!  8)

Is this some kind of device to pull your finger?

Here's the final product. I carved it out with a Dremel.

You gonna outline the steps you took?  I have my own ideas, but would rather learn from someone elses mistakes. Errr... Your technical expertise.. 8)

1. Mark hole.
2. Cut hole.
3. Insert tube.

In all seriousness I got more pics step by step. I even have the template I used. I'm packing for a trip though so give me a few days!

Also looking forward to more info. When you get a sec. No rush. we'll just be sitting here, waiting. :)

- 'cause I ain't seeing how the tube is attached (no holes/bolts for the bracket?)
- 'cause I'm curious how/where the tank will be used on a [non-Performer?]
- 'cause my "Dremel skills" amount to several broken bits/cut-off wheels etc and that porcelain+steel bowl is kinda tough, no?
- 'cause I've forgotten how much a "proper" replacement Performer bowl costs from Weber, heh

Good stuff, Gummi... I did the same thing to my SSP redhead last summer. It wasn't nearly as difficult to do as I had been anticipating, although it didn't go as "neatly" as I would've liked. Super happy that I did that!

I did not take the time to take pics when I did it... looking forward to seeing yours, though...

Never mind, the bolts and holes would be out of view from that shot, just above. (So, you drilled those too, right?)
