This guy is selling his left nut for a Nissan 370z. http://jalopnik.com/this-man-is-selling-one-of-his-nuts-to-buy-a-nissan-370-1469909659

Therefore, your left nut is worth a yellow kettle or a 370z or $35k. WOW!

i'm pretty sure my left nut is worth less.
it's had a rough life.

when i was 16 or 17, it got pierced with the sharpened excess end of a metal hose clamp.

then when i was 25ish it swelled up bigger than a grapefruit for about a week. that was terrible.

it's possible that the events are related. I hadn't thought about that until now.

Not sure I'd drop more than $100 or so ... but, I would drive a great distance for one ...

Maybe even Minnesota in the dead of winter to pick up Greg's yellow beauty ..  :o :o :o
Plus I want to meet him, as I think he's a puckhead like me ....   ??? ;D ;)

Just kidding, Greg!  I would hang on to that one you recently picked up.  :D

LOL I am a retired puck head Mac. Love the game, as much as my Yellow. :)

If it's a weber, I can't pass on it. That's my sickness! I hope I am never cured.

This reminds me when my brother ran up to me when we were younger and he was real excited. He starts telling me how between the two of us we have five nuts!

I looked him dead in the eye and asked, "Why Sam? Have you only got one nut?"

Maybe I should be looking for a new car myself.

A while back I spotted what looked to be a yellow weber.  I was unable to stop and talk with the owner at the time but I am heading back to the area this weekend. .  I am just trying to get an idea what you think would be a reasonable offer or expectation. Let me know what you think and keep your fingers crossed.

Well, one year ago, $225 was way overpriced:

It is.

In fact, I cooked on it last night!  It was just dogs and heating up canned chili, but it is always fun to see the yellow getting fired up!

I'm enjoying reading this thread and feeling a bit vindicated. A while back we had a pretty contentious thread on this subject. Honestly, it is part if why I don't get on the forum as much as I used to.

People will pay what they will. Like any collectible, and these yellows are collectibles, condition is important. I don't know that these will always retain their value (bbq is enjoying popularity right now). Because of that I would not think of them as an investment. Pay what you like, recognizing that if you ever part ways you may or may not get your money back.

Lately I've settled into enjoying my modest collection. I continue to be amazed by how much untapped potential there is in these simple kettles. They really are great.
