Great price and a beautiful grill! My son has one that he bought new because his SO likes green. I don't need another Performer but I might have been tempted to jump on that.

As far as the thermometer goes, IMO they both work well. As you work with it you will learn what a given reading on the thermo relates to when cooking food on the grate. Exact temperatures are not worth obsessing about and either will get you in the ball park and allow you to hit a home run! (Too many metaphors? too bad!  :P )
