I need help and suggestions...
« on: September 25, 2013, 07:38:04 AM »
Can anyone offer me any help or suggestions. What's the best way to get a heavy grease stain out of a Weber thermoset plastic table top? Anybody have any secret home remedies or tricks? I tried everything. Thanks.
This is the original Weber kettle. The most powerful bbq grill in the world and can blow your taste-buds clean off! So, you have to ask yourself one question: "Do you feel hungry? Well, do you punk?"

Have you tried a baking soda scrub?

I have the same issue, I tried mineral spirits.  It helped a bit but didn't take it out completely.  Let me know if you find a solutuion.

i used greased lightning, sprayed it on and let it really soak in for a long time before scrubbing with a brush and wiping with paper towel.

it took 3 or 4 times, but eventually it looked brand new.

Cream cleanser and a light scrubbing pad, I think the grit in the cream cleanser really helped to lift the stain
I have a blue platinum that had rust and grease stains and it came up spotless
I'm only 2 or 3 kettles away from being that creepy guy down the street with all the Webers

Spray Nine works great on removing grease. May need multiple applications ... and some scrubbing / scraping.

I restored quite a few gassers this summer and dealt with my share of dirty plastic tables.  I haven't tried most of the suggestions in this thread, but I'll put my technique up against any of em.

You need a tub/container big enough so you can submerge the plastic table.  Fill tub/container with dawn soapy water (hot is best) and let it soak overnight.  Following day take a scrubbie of some sorts and that gunk will come right off.  Don't be shy with the Dawn either.  It's cheap stuff and works amazingly well.
I've always had gas...  And now a bunch of kettles because of this place.  Thanks!
