I took this as a challenge.... So.... I went out and got one to figure it out! :)

First round tonight ...

Pork chops and home fries at the same time!

Take that zavod!  :)

Thunder71

Looking forward to hearing how that turned out!

Ahhhh..... Very tasty.

No plated pics but that griddle works like a champ! Those were some tasty potatoes! I only lost one potato piece to the depth of the kettle. I actually like the level of that ridge on the pan to push against. The surface is pretty good and really did not require much oil at all. Just drizzled some on the taters before I put them in the pan. I am very pleased with how it turned out.

I think next up will be some stir fry flat top style!

Thunder71

Very nice!

I'm really digging it and looking forward to using some of these ideas and more over the years. Worked great for the loose meat/maid rite sandwiches, just have to be ready for how fast it browns ground beef.  I may start using less coals with this thing, it gets hot! :)

Thin Blue Smoke

Yes, it does get hot. Here is what I did and ended up grabbing the baskets with my tongs and sliding them out to the sides a bit to adjust the temp. That is where the hinged grate came in handy.

Pancakes, bacon, and eggs are pretty similar to potatoes and pork chops....I suppose pork chops and bacon are made from a pig..... I'd like to see the eggs warming on the side or the pancakes..... For that matter I would also like to see the loose meat warming on the side......

I would do a lot of my sides on that thing.

Sauteed onions or mushrooms, spiced apples, herb roasted potatos, grilled polenta.

Also other uses would be smaller sliced meat dishes like bulgogi, char siu, etc.

Man, when this thread first went up I initially thought Galbi! but I couldn't think of any sides to go with it so I redacted.

Some great sides for any type of Asian bbq style meats.  I love mixing different types of cuisines to come up with a very tasty meal.  These are some great side dishes I have made to go with Filipino, Korean, and Chinese style bbq.

Bao (Chinese steamed buns) - You can make them pretty easily or you can buy them at a Asian market.  They are steamed buns that go so well with Asian bbq.  I buy them from a local Asian market.

Spicy and sweet pickled veggies - You can eat them after a couple hours but I like the flavors if they have been sitting for at least 24 hours.
2lbs of veggies (I like doing carrots and dikon julienned)
1 1/2 cups cider vinegar
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup rice vinegar
3 whole star anise
3/4 cup raw or granulated sugar
1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
3 tablespoons minced fresh ginger root
1 clove garlic, peeled and minced
1 teaspoon kosher salt

Rice -  Steamed or fried rice, it doesn't matter!

Kimchee  - enough said about this

scallion pancake - you can wrap any type of meat up in it like a savory crepe
2 cups flour
2 eggs, beaten
1.5 cups water
1 bunch of scallions, halved and cut into 2-3 inch lengths
1 tsp salt

Sauteed bean sprouts
1 pound of bean sprouts, rinsed and drained
1 teaspoon salt
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 green onion, chopped
½ teaspoon of hot pepper flakes
1 teaspoon fish sauce (or soup soy sauce, or salt)
1 teaspoon roasted sesame seeds,
2 teaspoon roasted sesame oil

Filipino style green beans
1 lb fresh green beans, ends trimmed and cut into 2-3″ pieces
1 medium onion
5 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup white vinegar
1 cup water

I have this gourmet system, I speak from experience....Plus now that I challenged you it will force you to go make something good to spite me....then you will have a new dish you can make.....personally I don't know why they don't make the full size griddle anymore, then you could make the breakfast you were talking about......

All in jest :)

You are correct in that you definitely have to be more creative.  I was also looking at the stok full size griddle that is more like the old one  but I think this will work for what I need.

Btw, breakfast wasn't my thing.... I think that was LB. I'm not much of a breakfast guy but I guess I gotta try it now. ;)

What is the stok griddle?  I haven't seen it...
