My Score off CL.  Thanks to Ted and Jeff for helping me getting this very fine grill.   It needs a little bit of cleaning and some new handles.  Jeff picked it up for me and Ted brought it home and I cannot thank you guys enough.

Looks good Eric. Glad it made its way home safely. There's really something about those redheads that make it hard to look away.

A redhead with freckles. Nice find!!!

Eric, it was a pleasure to help a fellow club member out.  It has some rough spots but it is a grill from 1986 afterall.  A bath and some handles and it will look very nice.

Has anyone had any much luck painting kettles with chipped out areas?

I saw a great video on Youtube (Yup, Yup) by John the Picker on how to properly paint your Kettle.  ;)

Then he cooked some great charcoaled up food yup, yup.

I have painted the spots on my green kettle and blue SS with some success (not exact color matches by any means), but I have not needed to paint a red yet. I sprayed the blue with 1200 degree manifold paint, then 500 degree engine paint (because the color was closer), and it has held up without a hitch so far on both the bowl and the lid.  The green was painted with a 500 degree grill paint and while it is starting to pop off from the bowl, it works well on the lid.

I will be doing just that.  A clean up and new handles.  I was curious if anybody has tried painting them.
