Isn't the 8835 the plated steel GBS?

Yes, plated steel with two hinged areas for adding additional charcoal, and where the center portion comes out.

Went the Hunsaker route. Got a cooking grate with a single hinge and a charcoal grate.

Well darn, the couple times I called the customer service reps made it seem like it was discontinued or had difficulty finding records of the number. I am happy with the Hunsaker purchase. Like most things, the test of time will show if I made the right choice.

Believe it or not, it's a bit of an obscure part when it comes to the assortment of Weber US cooking grates. Most reps don't even know it exists. My goal is to get it put on Weber.com eventually so anyone can just order it, but it'll take some work, as there are some higher priorities for the Weber.com team due to all the new product launches this season. #IworkforWeber

Thank you for the follow up on this! I totally understand that the 80728 grate is a niche item in the Weber world. I do hope it can be made available online in the future.

I'm going on 5 years for my SnS 22 stainless.  It's got close to 800 cooks.   No issues.  It's the only one I use.
