I would highly recommend an ooni. I started making pizza a couple of years ago on my kettles. I had an attachment with a pizza stone and it worked great. I got the kettle as hot as I could when I was in pizza making mode, and after awhile I felt guilty subjecting the kettle to that regular abuse. I saw an ooni in action over at my friends house, and I was so impressed.

I started off with the 12" ooni and used it for about a year. I just recently upgraded to the 16". We use it almost every weekend. It works great, efficient, and I don't have to subject any of my kettles to the high heat. Hope this helps.

Personal preference, no add-on ring.

Didn't care for the Kettle Pizza, although I liked the PizzaQue version better.

If you want charcoal/wood fired, cut an old lid.

I would REALLY like an OONI, but just can't justify one

Just my slice of opinion 🤪

I have a cut 18" lid, a Bakerstone box and a PizzaQue gas pizza oven.

wow 2 posts before I even finished typing my post lol you guys are fast ... couldn't agree more with both!

In my opinion it depends on how hardcore of a pizza lover you are and how artisanal you want to get with it. Do you normally plan a pizza night in advance or want to walk in the door after work and fire up some pizzas on a whim? Each has the capability to make amazing pies!

You can make awesome pizza on a kettle (be sure to check some of dazzo's posts!) but it usually involves dialing in your set-up, using an accessory ring or mod of some type, and also learning the ropes of your own setup a bit so to speak. Where as the Ooni is more or less designed to do one thing - Pizza. They are fantastic and straight outta the box are optimally setup for good airflow to evenly cook toppings at the same pace as the crust. The propane models also fire up very quickly and you can smash out pie after pie on them and they stay super consistent. We sell and demo them fairly often and they really are great.

I have both. A dedicated 22" Weber that has a dual lid with a 1/4" gap between them that easily gets over 900*+. I start a modified char basket in the rear with briqs and use small apple or maple splits for the fire. LBGE pizza stone at grate level makes launching and turning easy.
Also have a discontinued UUNI/OONI3 with both a Pellet hopper and the LPG burner. I prefer the propane burner over the pellets. I recently installed a OONI Hack 12" pizza stone turntable but have yet to fire it up in this configuration.

That double lid idea is pretty awesome.  Two handle offsets and three around the lid?  Very clever.

The Onlyfire pizza accessory for the kettle is great quality and comes with all you need to make a great wood fired pizza on the kettle.

Onlyfore also makes the same pizza accessory that doubles as a rotisserie.

We have both and they are top quality and easily cheaper that the kettle pizza and well worth the money.

Available on Amazon.

Shout out to @DrewZ for selling me his Weber Pizza Oven 6520 Attachment. It's discontinued, and I've been looking for one for a long time. It would

be cool if Weber re-releases these.

Is this really only 30 bucks? Does it work well

I reckon you don't know what a British pound is?  No, I don't have one of them Hairy Bikers pizza oven attachments.  Judging from the reviews, it's terrible. It looks pretty cool tho.
