The red top is a 1980 B code and the black bottom is 1982+. The guy that I bought it from didn't know that the bottom had been replaced and that it should have been red also. Both pieces are in really good shape with no chips or scratches and this is the condition that I bought it in – no clean-up required. Merry Christmas to me!

Well what do you know. I have it's half brother. A little more beat up than yours, but still in decent shape.

I found this locally(WI) in 2020. I asked the seller where the red bottom was and he told me that this was the way it was when he bought it.  He said he was the original owner.  I held onto it, and it's still in my possession.

Happiness is found under the lid of a charcoal grill.

Thanks everyone - I like the red and black combo, too and it's good to know that it has a twin! A Weber CGA Traveler

Mine has the B stamp on both vents and the D on one... what's the D stamp mean?
