Chuck roast
« on: March 29, 2022, 05:07:30 PM »
Decided to try my hand at a chuck roast on the rotisserie. This is how it came out after 40 minutes. Used B&B with charcoal baskets. B&B briquets are my new fav. Used Loubier seasoning that I got in my BBQ of the month club Dad gift from the kids for Christmas.

Honestly I never did either, but a quick search to see if anyone did it, I decided to give it a shot. It was really good. I just need to maybe take it off a little sooner. It wasn’t tough just not enough pink.

We have smoked many chucks, low & slow. They are better than brisket, and much more forgiving when it comes to BBQing!
Never thought about the rotisserie.

Agree, all of these look awesome.  We've got one thawing in the fridge... Wife insists on using the crock pot/slow cooker thingy as this will be her cook.  Can't complain though, she makes a darn good roast.

I told my sister that Kroger had Nolan Ryan Angus Chucks on sale. And...she said she would throw it in a crock pot!

We always do ours low & slow, on a smoker.

And into the crock pot it went this morning.  Pouring rain here and we're both off to work.  It'll be good....

My wife makes an awesome roast in the crockpot too. But man, a little part of me cringes watching any meat be cooked indoors.

It did not disappoint for sure!  We had mashed potatoes with the au jus from the crock pot.  Pulled roast beef sandwiches with a little horseradish tonight.....

I've cooked chucks and brisket point on the spinner.
But I always took em all the way to pulling temp.
I don't think I've ever had a chuck that was pink in the middle.
