On Wednesday as I was on my way to get a target copper I get an email from
@JonesBBQ mind you I have had no interaction with this person in the past so I wasn't sure what it was about. He mentioned he had a line on a sequoia and that while he would love to get it, an 11 hour trip seemed a bit much. Uh well of course I am interested. So he gave me the details of the estate sale and was cheering me on to keep it in the family. Later that evening I got a Facebook message from
@Jeff who had a contact from Minn who also wanted someone local to not let this grill go to the wild. I told Jeff I was already hit up by it and was considering it. First, the sale itself had all kinds of really cool stuff, I was almost more intrigued by the other items than the grill, it happened to be in the part of metro Detroit where there is old money. House was really cool, had an indoor pool, you could tell these people were loaded.
So I emailed the person in charge of the sale and he gave me a price for the grill, I was unable to go when the sale opened but I braved it at lunch time hoping the grill was still there. In our minds everyone at the sale is there for the grill, when in fact it is usually the last thing these people are interested in.
So it was there, and while dirty is in good condition overall I asked if someone could help me load it up and gave him the $$ and am very happy.
