Straps for kettle covers?
« on: April 01, 2021, 11:23:46 AM »
Wondering if anyone has any good suggestions for straps to keep kettle covers on under high winds. Would love to find some short straps with a clips to strap under the triangle, but don’t know where to find them. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

Just grab a handful of these.

I pinch the cover to the legs.
One on each leg

The spring clamps have worked through hurricanes to keep the cover on my Performer.

Not sure if you're in the market for a new cover, but I love my KingKong covers that include a sewn on strap that fastens under your triangle.  They also have great covers for your OTP or Gasser if you have that.  So far they do not leak like my Weber covers do.  They also come with a set of tongs and a grill brush.

If your going to secure a cover to your kettle Mitch, I recommend placing a brick or two on the triangle.  I had a Weber cover strapped to my yellow 22" and a gust of wind lifted it up, tipping it over onto the front leg.  I no longer secure the straps of my covers to my kettles.  I would rather pick the covers out of the trees the day after a wind event than have a kettle damaged again.

I can confirm the King King covers are nice, I just got one for the Performer. My Weber cover leaked, and
got cracked from use. You could see light coming through in certain spots. The Kong cover fits perfect with
the new style lid bale, no snagging or tightness around the bale. Actually better than my previous Weber
Cover.

+1 on not tethering the covers.  I had two blow over last year.   Better to let them fly off than have vintage porcelain ready for a dustpan.
