Does anyone have experience with a wheel that looks like this? If so, how did you make it sexy again?

Degrease it with alcohol & soak overnight in Evap-o-rust. rinse & buff.

Is that from the redhead?

Here is an example of a oxidized lid vent both before and after restoration.  I sanded it using #0000 steel wool and then polished with an aircraft aluminum polish - Rolite Supra 90. Be prepared, it's going to take a lot of time.  Sand/buff in a circular motion.

Wow, those are the results I'm looking for! I've been using 000 and only little progress has been made. I'll keep at it. Thank you!

They don't sell evapo rust at my local cheapo depot so I tried CLR and followed the rest of your directions. It helped release some of the crud. Thanks Stoneage!

I've found evapo rust at local auto parts stores as well...... good luck!

Home Depot sells it online and will ship it for free to your local store.

I buy EvapoRust by the 5 gallon bucket.
