I picked up this grill off cl the other day for 20. It was filthy, but I could tell they mainly cooked burgers on it. These are the best grills when they cooked greasy things because the grease removes so easily as opposed to baked on burnt on carbon. It was also from a good neighborhood and they usually take care of things, so the condition was no surprise. Sorry I forgot to take before pics, but like I said it was filthy, in fact the whole lid was greasy. :o But well protected. ;) By the way, even the ash pan was perfect and never removed, so no bends in it. :)

I did a few upgrades like adding a set of O'Neals and some red metal rubber wheels.

By the way, that triangle was one of the black ones, which would have looked fine except I decided to remove it because I knew there was gold I mean chrome under it. :D

Nice 18 duke! Do you find yourself cooking on 18's often?

Very nice....the old school cooking grate is worth the price.

I think the 18's are perfect for traveling.

Lookin' good Duke! What kind of wheels are those? They are sweet!  :D

The red wheels and black kettle look old school 50s cool!

Duke

Thanks, they are training wheels. ;D They are only about five inches though, so they don't look exactly right, but the bright red really makes them stand out.

I like 'em. You've done those on other kettles, yes? I thought I saw a blue and a yellow pair on a some of your other kettles. They look like they match the width of the pre 1958 wheels.  8)

I have used these a few times. They are skinny like the really early wheels except the diameter is about an inch smaller. I think they are five inches.
