Picked up an old FBK-530 (1964(?) Fireplace Bar B Q). Where to start?

I stumbled upon what I've identified as a Weber Bar B Q Kettle (23," two-tone, which makes me believe it's the FBK-530 -- the kind that is supposed to actually go in a fireplace). All original parts. The frame is rusty, but the body is in good shape. I'm interested in any information you might have on value, how to clean off the rust/stabilize the frame/if I should even do those things at all. Not sure if I should try to sell it or keep it.

I'm having a really hard time finding any information on it. I can't even find one for sale. This is my first post and I'm very glad to have found a good community resource.

It's the red and black on the last page of this link.

Here's a photo showing the body and rust on the frame. Both racks are still included.

Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

Congrats!  It's nice to see one of those found in the wild!  Just to jump in, I think it is all original.  The Weber restaurant in STL has one like that with a black bottom and red top as I remember.

BEEP BEEP BEEP  ....... the sound of the Brinks truck backing up to your door.
Great find.

Very nice.  Your lid is not standard for the 22" fireplace. Your lid looks to be made for a 1960's Red Ranger.  The 22" Fireplace lid would have double handles (one handle on each side of the lid).  However, Weber was known to to run out of inventory during the 1960's. Decent chance when it was being "put together" they were short a lid and put a lid for a Red Ranger on it.

That's insane.  I can picture the conversation at the factory - hey, we're out of lids for those crazy fireplace grills and need one more to finish this pallet.
Uh, just grab one off one of them weird wheelbarrow grills

So clearly there's a Ranger with a Custom Meat Parts lid out there - gotta connect all the rarest grills in Weberville.

@nichols6 , the Ranger @harris92 references is an old Weber model that looked like a wheelbarrow and is highly sought after and rare.  The Fireplace is even rarer. Also,  there isn't much he doesn't know about old weber grills and  i bieve he has at least 2 of each of those.

Cool acquisition. I hope you share the story about how you got it.
