I found a lightly used performer premium green top for 150. I'm hopeful the woman meets up with me tomorrow.  Images look great and she says no cracks or dents. So hopeful!!

What's crazy is shes 2hr away from me. I'm in NY she Jersey. I'm headed to the Jersey Shore tomorrow with my 3 kids...might work out on the return home when shes leaving work in NY to her home which is less than 15 minutes off Garden State Parkway I'll be on headed home anyway.

Sometimes life can work 🤪

Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

Things went as well as anyone could expect. Claire was a total sweet woman and the grill was a huge jackpot. Despite all the beach gear the grill fit nonissue in the back fo the F150.

I got home about 9pm from the pick up after a fun day at the beach.  The grill is beyond a sweet pick up. Some surface rust on the handle and the ignition isn't working. This grill is like new condition for 150? Love it.

Having some difficulties posting pics.  Am I missing something?   I have a few pics and some questions to ask on my new grill.

I used the age tool on the site and the new performer is from 2007.  Great shape for 12 years old.  Cleaned up easily.  Will be cooking on it tonight.

I was wondering the best process for removing the rust on the handle rivets.

The gas line on the starter is clean and gas flows fine.  The igniter is not working.  I'm guessing a flint is missing or wornout?  For now a long match works a -ok.

Clean out the gas tube.  Remove the igniter & clean the electrode off, sand it with very fine sand paper or steel wool.  I've heard it might also help to take a wire, poke it through the hole in the gas tube that the igniter goes in (while you have it out) & scratch the inside of the tube to make sure you've got some bare metal that will help for sparking between the electrode & tube.

Perhaps I should mention, that while I've done this on a couple of performers that I've owned & I've even gotten a tank recertified and filled, I've never actually tried out the ignition system.  I just use a chimeny (or now two for double stacking).  But, it does make sense & I've don the same thing on my oven's igniter electrode & it worked like a charm & saved me from buying a replacement part.

Hal
