Picked up this beauty in a recent trade. A local Aussie acquired it on a Gumtree purchase.

It's very easy to clean, I suspect it will get well used in the Bear Cave

Looks really good on the SSP mate...Enjoy

What countries were these sold in and when? It looks awesome and I would love to find one if I could get it here reasonably.

Is it porcelain coated? Or well seasoned?

Looks awesome. I'm surprised collectors would actually use one. Most on here are concerned  of porcelain damage to kettles from high heat. It's logical to assume high heat could damage the griddle. However, I have never worried about banking coals in my black grills and there is absolutely zero damage from high heat after 10 years hard use.

Oddly enough, my wsm water pan is showing signs of heat damage and I rarely use the pan lol.

Is the griddle steel thicker than the kettle steel?

I think the real culprit is thermal shock. I usually have used coals banked from the last cook and I add lit coal to it. The wall of the kettle gets brought up to temp gradually.

On the wsm, I'm guilty of pouring cold water into the water pan. This thermal shock is causing the damage imo.
