1st Time Vortex
« on: July 14, 2019, 06:09:20 PM »
First time using the Vortex. Made a few mistakes. The biggest was filling the vortex with a full chimney. Needed only 3/4 at most. Otherwise, very happy with Hot Wings.

My vortex is not getting hot enough. Could I be filling it too much?

Do you have your vents wide open? It should get plenty hot with a chimney of fully lit coal and the vents wide open.

Crack the lid, you’ll have all the heat you want and then some.

Yeah, I never fill the Vortex, even when I use it on my 26er to cook a whole family pack of wings.
