First, I want to issue a huge thank you to @jcnaz. A while back, John let me know a few of his old kettles needed a good home. I didn't really need any more barbecues at my house and I have gifted cookers to nearly everyone I know. But then I got to thinking. My dad, who has cooked on Weber's for years, didn't have one anymore. Check. My cabin cooker, that has always been an SJ, could stand a size upgrade. Check.

Instead of throwing them on a FedEx truck or a Greyhound bus, they took a trip on the "West Coast Kettle Express." I also want to shout out thanks to Mike @foshizzle, Mike's buddy, and Sidney @1spacemanspiff for their hand in making the 900 mile trip possible.

Long story short, they are in their new homes to be enjoyed for many years to come. My dad is really excited to have a Weber again and that 49'er looks like it belongs at the cabin. Both are going to be cooking up some great memories very soon!

What a great offer from you @jcnaz.  Everything seems  a little better when you have a steel wheeled, thumbscrew kettle in your possession!  Congrats to you Mike, your Father, and your cabin. That 49er does look great at your cabin.

Here is another shot of the 49'er next to a 50's Kelvinator refrigerator/freezer combo.

@Mike in Roseville, I am very glad to pass these beauties on to you and thank you for the rubs and sauce!
@foshizzle, it was a pleasure to almost meet you. ;) I have enjoyed our conversations and I really like the grates!
All of this was possible because those beautifully weathered kettles were sent to me by @CatskillSmoker.

Glad to help out. Those are beautiful kettles.  Never did see them originally because they were boxed when I picked them up.
It was good to be a part of this, met and talked with some good people, of course @Mike in Roseville and @jcnaz and his dad.
I'll be driving back to Phoenix next year if there's more.
Also during this time also talked with @CatskillSmoker , who started this whole chain of events. He's a stand up guy.
