New Go To Charcoal Royal Oak All Natural Briquettes

Maybe it’s the Lowe’s I bought it at but I’m done with Stubbs. The last bags I used were all busted and dust. Not the normal size whole briquettes.

I’ve read that this RO formula is the same as their Chefs Select but a smaller size briquette. It lights super fast and burns nice and hot.

Walmart. $7.94 for 16lbs. Il be cleaning out the stores close to me this weekend.

I'd love to see side, by side, by side tests of various charcoals for performace metrics. Hot hot they burn, how long, how easy to light etc... So many different options, so little information...

I was die hard KBB for years but after using over 60 pound of Western lump this summer I'm converted. KBB just has too mush ash. Also lump cooks so much better IMHO

I’ve been using these as well. Great charcoal! I like the red bag RO too. I’ve looked at them SBS and I can’t tell the difference. Love Weber charcoal too. I used to love Stubbs, but I bought a bag the other day and was very disappointed. It can’t be the same formula  it used to be.

I think Stubbs is the same formula but all my bags were either hit with a rubber mallet for fun or kicked around. More charcoal dust than any other bags over the last 3 years. The briquettes were not whole pieces.

Probably more than 2/3 of my coal consumption is lump but Chef Select is the only briquettes that I've been using for more than a year. Price is roughly the same at $9.50 for 20 lbs. Nice thing about is that i don't have to stockpile since it's always on stock at a store near my house. Takes almost as long as the weber briquettes to get lit but it's ok as i have a 100,000 btu wok burner to get them going when in a hurry.

Same here. I wouldn't buy the current iteration of kbb even if it's $2 a bag.

For all of you using lump how does it work in a snake? I have 2 bags left of KBB a some RO and western. I also have KCB which burners a lot hotter than KBB but have to use it sparingly because I can't find a comparable bricket.

Whatever the product is, it's always funny to see 100% natural. I'm than asking myself wtf was inside similar products of the same brand.

Royal Oak All Natural is excellent.

It has flown 'under-the-radar' a little with KBB and Regular RO getting much of the mention during sales and clearance.

It's under $8 at all local WalMarts. Now that Stubbs is discontinued and no new Weber briquettes are popping up, its my new go-to for briquettes.

The only reason I haven't bought more is because 30 lb bags of Western Lump is had for the same price (or cheaper).
