What a night!! ...

Weber Canada did a country wide mobile grilling experience and yesterday was the Vancouver stop on the tour. It was a beautiful west coast day and we were grilling right next to the water 8)

They had a Summit Charcoal Grill, a LE Red MT, A 6-Burner Genesis II LX, and a 4 Burner Summit S-470 all on hand to accomplish the task at hand. The menu included Cedar Planked Salmon, Steaks, Asparagus and Pineapple Upside Down Cake all done on various grills. Everything was delicious! (would you expect anything less??) Especially the upside down cake... this stuff is legitimately dangerous! ;)

I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Clive a few years back when I did the Grill Academy Visit (Original story here) so it was really cool to catch up with him and also meet Weber Canada's Grill Specialist Damien Chong. These guys both love grilling and their enthusiasm for the art is infectious! The third fellow in the pic is the regional Weber rep who's also a great guy and fellow kettlehead!

Anyways, on to the (many) pics

Need some wood chips? ...

Hope you guys enjoy the pics! I would highly recommend attending one of these events if you ever get the chance!

Take care!

@RottiGuy

The LX models are very nice! One quick question for you... how attached to a side burner are you? If you don't require one, consider checking out the SE-310 (Not E or S 310). Its only available through Weber Alliance dealers (aka no big box stores etc) but it's essentially the base model open cart grill, but with all the SS internal goodies (flav bars and cooking grates) from the LX models. There are a couple other small differences, but the SE-310 is one of the best values in the model line IMO. Only thing that would steer me personally to the LX would be if you absolutely need that side burner or really want an enclosed cabinet.

Well I don't really need a side burner, so I will look into that model, I think it's the same one I bought last week for my cousin's wedding gift..

Interesting. Looks the like SE-310 splits the price difference between the E-310 and S-310. I don't even see it on weber.com.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

I think the SE-310 is a canadian special edition... 7mm rods cooking grates, the LX uses 9mm..

Thought the links I saw at Amazon and a couple other places were U.S. however. Regardless, it's additionally interesting (to me ... ) that Weber would have two different SS grates for the same cookbox (and same style, where one isn't like the old curved bars).

But I suppose that's just indicative of how competitive the gas grill market is: machines at *every* price point where buyers are concentrated.

Wow, this looks very cool, Matt!  Thanks for sharing and letting us know the other dates.

@MrHoss might want to consider the May 31st date.

I want to seriously consider the July 24th, or 25th date.  :D 8)
