I realized that this guy is a Weber dealer.. every Weber in the catalogue in front of me., and then in the corner.. there she is a “26” !!! Wow !! I can not believe how much the lid weighs.. now I own a Ranch, but you expect the lid to be heavy. But the 26 took me by surprise..
Now I need one!!

You won’t regret it. I prefer to pick them up on CL for around $100-$150, but they’re pretty rare around where I live.

Such a tease. Fix yer thread subject line, you didn't buy it!

I prefer cheaper still when I can find them!  But the problem is they tend to be pretty rare around where everyone lives!
Its amazing how quickly one weber kettle turns into more than a dozen!  Always open to grabbing something interesting so let me know what you've got!

Yeah, I think my only complaint (or at least one of the few I have) with the 26 is the lack of sturdiness of the legs. I’d love to build a mini ranch setup, or maybe just try out a Home Depot shower curtain rod cut to length as some have suggested. I never really need to roll mine around, so the wheels can go.

Hell, if I was that big and heavy my legs would wobble too!! They are still badass
Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

Not to make ya jealous but I just got my first 26”.... :) $30 off of LetGo.... epic. Fixed the lid rollers and handles with spare MT parts I had. Boom. Stainless sweeps to boot.

Re-jiggering a kettle's legs is one of the best and easiest mods extant. And on a 26 it's nearly a must IMO because of all the weight leaning that lonely front leg.

Here again are two I've done on 26's:

The horizontal rod attaches to the front leg with a star nut like what hold an SSP frame together. The axle runs through it on the other end. This is for taller guys only.

And yeah I could do without the front wheel, but rolling it means the front bowl handle is never stressed, and that's the other Achille's Heel any 26 has IMO. Those spot welds will become weak over time due to lifting the extra weight. This one's shorter than the one above but still a little taller than stock.

And while retaining the triangle for stability won't be as strong as a horizontal rod (long term) I was careful to make the rear leg holes snug and the double holes in the front leg also snug, making use of the triangle's half-circle hook (smaller grill triangles are not like this) so that it wouldn't be so inclined to gouge out the hole as with Weber's design.
