Little known fact:  black kettles get even more black when they get really hot.

I love that C&B but that is ugly....

I call BS!  If this ugly heated up C&B color was the long lost 1964 "Puke Yellow-Green" kettle that nobody ever bought back in the day and there were only three known examples, everybody would be fighting for them and calling them pretty!  Or maybe it just takes a kettle 40-50 years to really hit their prime.

That's funny right there.

I find it strange that a kettle color that is so cool gets ugly when it's hot. BTW - The range of ugly with this one must be according to how hot it gets. When I'm doing a normal cook it just gets duller, not real appetizing, but not butt ugly. But that pic was taken when the therm. was buried.

I have a follow up question:

Are there any other colors that get uglier when they are heated up?  ???

Here's a video of a hot red-head in the rain. The rain cools down tiny little circles as the water evaporates - neat effect.

That's the first safe for work hot red head in the rain video I've ever seen.  Oddly mesmerizing (I must be getting old).

What about the new Coppers? Do they color shift after a period of time?
