The red color shift is well known (though the first time I saw mine do it, I nearly lost it in a major grillfella geek out).

Regular

Heated up (beside the red gasser, which curiously doesn't change color

I wouldn't have believed its the same grill!

Then, in Idahawk's Yellow Kettle thread, he shows that the yellows change too, which I thought was really cool and makes me want one of those.  So what else changes color?  Pics would be great.  I can only confirm that the C&B grey does not.

Jeff

I have a burgundy MT that turns an even deeper red than the red grills do.  I don't have pics, but its a deep beet red, more so than my red SS Performer gets.

So so far we know that the following colors change

red
yellow
burgundy

I think that's an excuse to fire up the MT soon and get some evidence Jeff!

Has anyone ever gotten a old baby blue hot enough to see if it changes?

I had a red gasser from '97 that changed colors. It was kind of an orangish red when cool and a deeper red when it got really hot. I sold it recently though so no pics 😔

I haven't fired up my Cado yet or even touched it , I wonder if its a color changer . I'm cooking tomorrow may have to find out :)

The wife's chicken cookup was 400f ( on a regular blue ) & it seemed to darken a bit, but it was a bright day & I couldn't really tell......semi-subdued sunlight is the best time to tell, I've noticed....... ;D

This isn't as spectacular as the reds or yellows. As a matter of fact, my C & B Performer gets uglier when it's good and hot. The second pic is when I had my Kettle Pizza attachment on and the therm. was spiked.

And yes, it has been lovingly cleaned since then with 0000 steel wool and Dawn dish soap.

When my Warrior gets to about 400 or so, it gets to be a darker brown. Not as big a change as my reds but darker to the point that the two tone lid starts to blend a little.
