This pickup run started on Saturday afternoon, when I arranged to pick up a Brave (18" coppermist) listed for sale on CL.  I had gone back and forth about getting it because it was a 3 hour round trip from my house.  Well, Saturday night as I was shutting my PC down a CL add for a red Outrider popped up. The add had only been posted for 12 minutes.  Thankfully, the add had a contact phone number. Although it was later than I would normally call someone, I figured the seller had to be up since he just posted the add.  He was up and I arranged to pick it up on the way to picking up the Brave. He said he was an early riser so I was at his house at 7:30 AM.  As soon as the seller came out of his house he asked me, " Is this thing a collect-able?  I have gotten about 5 phone calls and a bunch of emails this morning".  He found it interesting that there is a group of enthusiasts that collect Webers. He had purchased it new in 1998 and used it maybe three or four times.  It was always stored inside his garage so it is in exceptional shape.  Oh and although caddywhompus, the Brave is in really good shape too.

Congratulations.  I was one of the  people emailing on that red outrider.  Saw it at 5:30am that morning and emailed but didn't want to call that early but was thinking about it.
Both those BBQ's are great....like you said...not a bad day!

Yes Jason.  Although the CL add said Monterey, it was actually in Royal Oaks.  A tiny town I had never heard of next to Watsonville.  Worked out for me as it was closer than Monterey.  Surprisingly the add had been up for 5 days. Someone had called the seller about his other black kettle in the add, wanting to know the lid vent code.  Don't know why they weren't interested in the Brave.
