New style ash bucket in black
« on: December 23, 2017, 04:32:07 PM »
is the new squeeze handle style ash bucket available in black?  I think there have been a couple of grills sold with it, including the new LE.  Does anyone know a part for it?

I’m looking for an anodized black ash bucket.

Thanks.

I took a look at the new LE at True Value and bucket looked like my kids spray painted it.   The outside looked good but the inside was 1/3 black and the rest speckled over spray.  I could definitely do better

Who the heck sees the inside!?!
It's aluminum,  not gonna rust anyway.

Are they just painted?  I was hoping they are anodized.

How does it hold up?

I have to agree here, who cares about the inside?

I have a older twist on ash pot in black. It has a textured thicker durable  black coating. I painted a new ash pot with high temp black and it scratched off showing silver underneath.

All the Canadian Mastertouch grills have black ash buckets. I'm sure the new LE red does as well.

@ClubChapin, 65162 is the part number for the black ash catcher.

@Grillagin Is 65162 the bucket or the whole assembly?  I just looked it up on the weber site and 65162 seems that maybe it is the whole assembly and 65196 might be the bucket only.  It does indicate "black" for 65162 and not for 65196.

I looked at the schematic again and see what you mean.  I don't know anything more than you, at this point.  Someone at Weber should be able to clear it up.

I just ordered the assembly.  The rep was pretty sure that the bowl was black.  However, by the time I ordered a bowl and a handle to go with it, it cost more than the assembly, which also includes the ash ring; so I ordered the assembly.

I did look up a current performer, with a silver bowl, and the part numbers for the assembly and bowl are different, while the ring and handle are the same.  I suspect the part numbers 65162 and 65196 are indeed both for black bowls.

I'll report back if this is not the case.

30.77usd +tax and shipping.  About $10

The bucket was about 22 and the handle about 10.
